This Weekend

Another exciting weekend at the LaFleur household. I had my first night away from home (and Ben) since I was in the hospital for his delivery! I met up with my friends Lindsay, Meg, and Tricia Friday night after work for a girls' night/quick get-away. We went out to dinner then stayed over at a nearby hotel - so we were all able to have a few drinks without worrying about the drive home. We had a lot of fun. And though I missed Ben, it was nice to "sleep in" (OK, I still got up at 7:00 on Saturday!).

Jim, Ben, and I had a nice weekend, running errands, catching up on chores around the house, and staying in out of the cold. Tooth #4 for Ben made its way out this afternoon!

Quick Update

Ben hit his 11-month milestone this weekend. He crawls very well (especially to all the places he knows he's not supposed to!) and can walk by "cruising" around the furniture. He is able to stand alone for a few seconds, but hasn't yet ventured to take a first step. This weekend also saw the emergence of his third tooth (upper gum; he's had two in his front bottom gum for several months now). So . . . Jim and I hope this means an end to some of the night-time crankiness we've seen over the last few weeks.

But I have to admit - even with a little crankiness, Ben is still a great sleeper and a very good-natured kid. Based on the adage "God doesn't give you more than you can handle," Jim and I joke that He must have looked down at us and said, "Wow, those rank amateurs REALLY need the low-maintenance model."

Welcome!
